Virtual Therapy built around your schedule

Meet Manju Petty

Hi, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT#160452) based in California. I work with individuals, families, teens, pre teens, court involved youth, adults, incarcerated population and those that are just navigating life. Be it anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, family disputes and the pressure to “hold it all together”. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, heard, and accepted—exactly as you are. My role isn’t to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward the life you want to live. My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in real life. I don’t see my clients as diagnoses or problems to be fixed. I see people who are doing their best with what they’ve been given, often while juggling responsibilities, relationships, and expectations that can feel overwhelming. I take an integrative approach because everyone’s story and goals are different. I draw from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing to help people navigate challenges, find their own motivation, and make choices that feel right for them. At the heart of my work is a Client Centered approach – creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be heard, understood and supported at your pace. Over the years, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan, including pre-teens, teens, young adults, adults, couples and geriatric clients. I also have worked with incarcerated population, which has shaped my deep respect for resilience, accountability and the complexity of human behavior.  I’ve led therapy groups for teen moms, substance abuse groups for teens and adults and incarcerated youth and adults. I’ve also worked with individuals living with mental illness, substance use and HIV, providing compassionate, trauma – informed support. These experiences allow me to meet clients where they are, without judgement, and with an understanding that people are more than their circumstances or past decisions. I value and respect the cultural identities, values, and lived experiences each client brings into therapy. I recognize that culture, family systems, immigration experiences, faith, and generational beliefs can all influence how we view mental health, relationships, and healing.   I know that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming. You might be unsure of what to say, worried about being judged, or wondering if therapy will even help. You don’t need to have the perfect words or a clear goal before coming in — we’ll figure that out together. I am committed to walking alongside you with compassion and respect, helping you navigate life’s challenges at your own pace. If you are ready to start therapy, feel free to reach me at 669-200-3090 or email me at mailto:kommunicationthatworks@gmail.com. It would be a privilege to walk with you on this journey.

Couples Counseling

Relationships can feel especially challenging when communication breaks down, trust is strained, or life stressors begin to take a toll. I work with couples to create a supportive, collaborative space where both partners can feel heard and understood. Together, we explore patterns, strengthen communication, and work toward healthier, more connected relationships—at a pace that feels right for you.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what you’re carrying. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, or simply the pressure to “hold it all together.” My role isn’t to fix you, but to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your strengths, clarify your goals, and move toward a life that feels more grounded and authentic.

Youth Therapy

I work with pre-teens, teens, and court-involved youth who may be navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, family conflict, school stress, or major life changes. I strive to create a space where young people feel safe, respected, and truly heard—without judgment or pressure. My approach supports youth in building insight, emotional regulation skills, and confidence while honoring their unique experiences, strengths, and resilience.
